camcorder to dvd..

Using Adobe Premier 6.5, would someone please explain to me how to get video from my camcorder on to a dvd. I do not wish to edit or do anything fancy. I just want to preserve what I have recorded on my camcorder to dvd at the best possible quality and be able to play it back in a dvd player. As you can tell, I am very new to this and would appreciate any help!

Hello allen123.
There are a few steps to this:
1 you need to connect your camcorder to your pc via firewire or another method so that premiere will recognise it. What camera are you using?
2 when you've done this you will need to drag the captured file(s) onto the premiere timeline
3 now you will have to go to file/export/movie and select the DV/NTSC format, assuming you want to watch it in the US.
4 now you will have to open your DVD authoring software, I would say that Nero is the easiest for this
5 drag the exported movie file(s) into the burning dialogue box, and you should be able to follow the steps from there.

If you could let me know what type and model of camera you are using, I can help you a bit more here

Hope it helps
