Burning DVD's

I have Windows XP. I have been using Windows media player for my music and videos. I want to burn some dvd's. I bought Memorex DVD+RW discs, but when I go to burn the disc my computer says that I need to install a blank cd. I install the blank DVD+ RW disc, but it just pops out and says to install another blank disk. It doesn't burn anything on the dvd disks. If I put in a blank cd it will burn, but will not hold nearly enough. I've tried a different set of Memorex DVD+ RW disks but no dice. My computer recognizes a blank DVD disk in the tray but refuses to burn onto it. What am I doing wrong?

BTW, I installed a new HP DVD writer 1040d. The disks I am using are Memorex DVD+R 8x and Memorex DVD+R 16x. It will not burn with the old dvd burner or the new dvd burner.

What kind of burning program are you using?

I recommend CDBurnerXpPro, you can find it in our handy tools section, or by Google. Best part is it's free!

If you have any other burning programs on your computer uninstall them first.
