Booktyping a DVD-R Dual Layer disc...

Hey guys,
I have a Sony DW-Q58A drive in my Dell laptop. I want to make backup copies of my DVDs and most of them are dual-layer. My drive (according to Nero InfoTool) can't burn DVD-R DL only +. I've read about booktyping/booksetting but can't find out how to do it with my drive. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Uhh...
Booktyping? Unless you plan on binding a book soon, or publishing it on a hand made printing press thats not what you need.

All you need is DVDShrink. http://www.dvdshrink.org/

FYI, DVD Shrink requires Nero to burn the iso's back to disc.

No, it doesn't.
Its easiest just to let DVDShrink rip the dvd to the hard drive, then burn the VIDEO_TS folder with your burning tool of choice.

To make a backup on the HDD you only require Shrink. For Shrink to do a Disk to Disk requires Nero.

Also, if you do decide to save the file on HDD then Video_TS file are good to watch from the HDD, but ISO's keep all the data in the proper format for DVD's. This means that DVD's created from ISOs will play on all/nearly all DVD players were as a Video_TS file burned back to a DVD will not necessarily play on older DVD players. So, it's a matter of opinion.
