3d games crash to deskto in XP after hardware upgrade

3d games (or anything using 3d) crashes to the desktop. I've upgraded to the latest via drivers and latest drivers for my video card. Problem started when I upgraded my mb, processor and memory. I have tried a clean install of windows xp with a Jaton 4x geforce ti4200 and an asus radeon 9600 se (both 128 megs of ram). I have direct x 9.1 and have run dxdiag with both cards and pass all the tests. Can not get any games to work. Any advice would be great!

MB - Asus a7v600
Vid card 1 - Jaton Geforce Ti4200 4x 128mb
Vid card 2 - Asus Radeon 9600 SE 128mb
Processor - AMD 2500+
Sound card 1 - Onboard sound on A7v600
Sound card 2 - Soundblaster Live Value (tried both)
Memory - 512mb pc 2700
Power supply - 550W

If you have any suggestions or need more info on my system, feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Casey

It's probably and IRQ conflict. Just incase, update your BIOS at Asus' site.

Also, go to Admin Tools from Control Panel and go to Event Viewer, then the Application Log and Security Log, look for the times your PC crashed and post what the details say.

also, having two GCards running at the same time is not a good idea.... all your 3D games will be fighting over which one to use, and hence, therefore probably crash.

from application log (several different errors) here's a sample of them. The rest are repeats with different fault addresses.

--------------------------------------------------------

Faulting application mohaa.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module mohaa.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x001057e0.

--------------------------------------------------------

Fault bucket 08146488.

--------------------------------------------------------

The application, C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 11/16/2003 @ 13:25:41.156 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 00505D7B (MOHAA!str__snprintf)
